Are you interested in hosting or organising your own testing event?

We are always looking to work with more partners, charities and organisations to host more and more of these testing events, helping reach out to people throughout the country and making it easier for them to get a test in a location convenient to where they live. If you are interested in working with us to organise more of these events or want to know more then please contact us to discuss further.

How to Get Started

1. Your people.

Get together a group of like-minded individuals who would like to make a difference in this vital area of healthcare. Prostate cancer support groups are a perfect example.

2. Contact us.

Discuss with GFCT via phone or email. Contact Kathy Romback.

Tel - 01926 419959 (Office hours 9am - 5pm)

Email - info@tgfct.org.uk

3. Your first event.

Consider holding a “pilot” session in a suitable venue in your locality. Please note GFCT will provide ongoing support. After the initial “pilot”, consider setting up an ongoing awareness programme for annual testing.

As a guide, each test costs up to £35.00 depending upon where in the country you are based. For comparison, if purchasing a test from a laboratory or other clinic in London, a PSA test costs varies between £59.00 to £79.00.

4. Funding.

Local charities such as Freemasons; Rotary and Lions are just 3 of the many sorts of organisations who may be able to help financially.

Some Banks do ‘Matched Giving’ Schemes. Lottery funding can be applied for. Just ask around you may be pleasantly surprised by the results!

Moreover, you can have voluntary collections at awareness events to help fund future road shows etc.
