COVID 19 BRINGS A STARK REMINDER OF THE CONSEQUENCES OF FAILING TO DIAGNOSE PROSTATE CANCER EARLY

27 Oct, 2020 | Return|

Many of you will be aware of the publicity surrounding the increase in death from a number of causes such as breast cancer and heart conditions during the current pandemic because of the inability of the NHS to provide the required support at this time. Additional deaths from Prostate Cancer is right up there with them with an increase of 53% being quoted recently. Given there are already 12,000 or so deaths from this insidious disease a year this could add upwards of 6,500 men to  the statistics. So what can we all do to try to prevent this from happening? Get yourself a PSA test to start with. Whilst we've had to suspend full blown public events for obvious reasons, you can easily obtain a Home Testing Kit by visiting https://mypsatests.org.uk/. The sample will be processed speedily by one of the country's leading laboratories and you will receive a medically overseen result within a few days... so why delay? A few minutes now could save your life!

Moreover, whilst we cannot organise large public events, we can, providing all the right safeguards are in place, carry out testing in the workplace, so if you think this is something your employer might be interested in supporting for it's male employees over 40 please don't hesitate to contact Susan, Jon or Wendy on 01926 419959 or email us at info@psatests.org.uk
