"We are delighted to announce that Retired Urological Consultant David Baxter Smith with whom we've had the privilege of working for the past 16 years will be playing a key role in the ongoing Research Project recently undertaken in conjunction with Manchester University.

David has from day one had a particular interest in the importance of Free to Total Ratio's as part of the PSA Testing process and will be paying particular attention to this aspect of the Research.

In order to give him time to carry out this important work he has stepped back from day to day involvement with us in helping to review results etc. This work will carry on under the direction of Alan Doherty.

We would like to thank David and his wife Dorothy for the immense contribution they have made both to us as a Charity and the cause of Prostate Cancer Awareness generally. He launched us on our testing crusade back at the Spa Centre in October 2005 and we have no doubt his actions have helped save and/or improve literally thousands of lives since that time."
