Why have a female hormone blood test?
A female hormonal blood test can measure different hormones in the blood, such as estrogen, FSH, LH, and AMH. These tests can reveal information about a woman’s health, such as her menstrual cycle, fertility, menopause, or hormonal imbalance. Hormone tests can also play a role in diagnosing medical conditions such as thyroid disease or diabetes. However, hormonal blood tests are not recommended or needed for women aged 45 or above with typical menopausal symptoms and/or period changes. Hormone levels fluctuate on a regular basis and have their own normal ranges depending on a woman’s age and reproductive status.
